A PAINTING has been presented to Henley Town Council by the organiser of the Henley Highwayman as thanks for its support.

Jeremy Laming made the presentation to Mayor Martin Akehurst and Councillor Will Hamilton, who will be taking part in the event, with Ali Bird, of event sponsor Savills, at the annual town meeting.

The painting by artist Carolyn Tyrer depicts Henley and will hang in the Mayor?s parlour.

Mr Laming said: ?When we had the painting done it was to depict the Highwayman and on the basis of the help and enthusiasm from the town council we couldn?t think of a more appropriate place to hang it.?

The Mayor said: ?It?s an interesting, modern depiction of the Thames at Henley.?
