COUNCILLOR Pearl Slatter will not be fighting to keep her seat on South Oxfordshire district council.

The Conservative, of High Street, Whitchurch, represented Goring ward alongside the late Councillor Ann Ducker, the authority?s former leader.

She stayed in the role after her colleague died following a short illness in September but is not standing in the elections next month.

Councillor Kevin Bulmer, who is Conservative county councillor for Goring division and vice-chairman of Goring Parish Council, is the Conservative candidate.

There is now only one seat in the ward following a boundary review last year.
