PLANS to introduce free wifi in Henley town centre have been approved.
South Oxfordshire District Council has granted Henley Town Council a licence to launch the scheme as part of the Henley Business Plan, which aims to make Henley the “best town in the world” by 2030.
Permission was needed as it will involve attaching equipment to lamp posts, which the district council owns.
Town centre manager Peter McConnell said more details about the wifi scheme would be announced in a few weeks.
The business plan, which covers the next four years, also includes improvements to the town’s markets and suggestions for increasing investment in employment sites.
