I HAVE lived in Shiplake for 27 years. My three children all went to Shiplake Primary and Gillotts schools and to The Henley College.
Although retired, I am still a director of the family music retail business and the finance director of a trade association. I understand the challenges facing small businesses today.
In the past I have been chair of the PTA and a governor and treasurer at Shiplake Primary School.
I am a trustee of Tong-Len, a charity which supports education for refugee children in India. I am also the political education officer for Henley Labour Party.
I am standing for election because I believe local people’s voices need to be heard on the issues that are of the greatest concern to them and their families.
I believe passionately that everyone has the right to live in a decent, affordable home. A Labour government would double the home-building programme in the UK. We need to ensure that the benefits of that initiative are felt here in South Oxfordshire.
I will ensure that your interests are represented at the district council.
