I AM chief information officer for CABI, a not-for-profit agricultural development organisation, where I have worked for 24 years.
I am married to local organic producer Mark Powell, of Ashtrees Farm vegetables. We helped to set up the weekly local producers’ market in Wallingford.
I spent three years as a community governor at Benson Primary School.
I am standing for election because I believe that the electors of Benson and Crowmarsh should have the choice of voting for a party that stands for fairness, social justice, equal opportunities and environmental protection.
At a time when local authorities are under pressure to build new homes, it is important that decisions are made in the best interests of the local community, taking into account local services, schools and the character of our rural villages.
As a keen road cyclist, I also believe that our roads need adapting to encourage safe cycling for all; this will also have a positive impact on health and traffic congestion.
