I LIVE in Watlington and am married with three adult children. I have had a varied business career including manufacture and distribution but am now retired.

I volunteer with several local environment groups on conservation work parties and am an active member of South Oxfordshire Sustainability. I am standing for election because I think there should be a wider representation of political views on the council.

My key area of interest is planning for a more sustainable future for the environment, our towns and villages and local economy.  I want the district council to be much more active in working with Oxfordshire County Council to reduce air pollution caused by traffic.  Everyone has a right to breathe clean air.  I am also a strong supporter of the “buy local” campaign and want to promote increased production and availability of local food.

In South Oxfordshire we have a very high use of energy.  We need to reduce this by using as many efficiency measures as we can. The Greens hope to achieve a strong economy based on renewable resources and by taking advantage of new  technologies.
