Prospective District Councillor - Sue Cooper

I HAVE lived in Ewelme, in the heart of the Henley constituency, for 40 years

I HAVE lived in Ewelme, in the heart of the Henley constituency, for 40 years and brought up my six children here.

I represented Benson and Ewelme on the district council for 20 years and was chairman and cabinet member for economic development.

I introduced the first recycling system in the district and chaired the Oxfordshire Waste Management Partnership, bringing together the county’s district councils with Oxfordshire County Council.

I have been very involved in many community organisations, starting a toddler group in Ewelme, treasurer then chairman of Benson Playgroup, parent governor, playscheme administrator, helping start Ewelme Village Store and working on Ewelme watercress beds.

I have a strong interest in environmental issues, particularly renewable energy, waste minimisation, cycling, public transport and growing my own food,

I strongly support the five policy areas in the Liberal Democrat manifesto, promoting a strong economy, fair taxation, opportunity for all, quality healthcare and protection of the environment.
