I LIVE in Henley with my partner and recently retired as assistant headteacher of Giilotts School, where I taught for 29 years.

I am on the committee of the Henley Show, a trustee of the Chiltern Centre for disabled children, governor of Badgemore Primary School and a member of Henley Bridge Rotary Club.

I have been a town councillor since 2011 and was Mayor of Henley in 2013/14. I am independent of national party politics. I just believe in getting things done for Henley. As a councillor, I have made a difference and got things done â?? Henley’s town centre streets are steam cleaned three times a year and business waste is collected at 5pm so Henley looks good in the evenings. I also started Music on the Meadows with Maggie Atkinson, which showcased Henley’s young talent.

If elected to the district council I will make sure that a community investment grant is given to build the skate park and that action is taken on HGVs that go through the town and are responsible for 40 per cent of the pollution. I will ensure that some of the 180 affordable homes built under the neighbourhood plan are subject to a local lettings policy for key workers and local people.
