I WAS born in Oxford, brought up and educated locally at Benson, Ewelme, Watlington and The Henley College before going on to Chelsea School of Art in London. I have pursued a career in the arts since graduating.

I have been a local councillor for more than 20 years, serving on South Oxfordshire District Council for the last 16.

I believe in getting the basics right and common sense without cutting key services. With my Conservative colleagues, I’ve helped cut your council tax and will freeze it for the next four years.

South Oxfordshire is number one for recycling and I will continue to innovate and protect our environment.

Investing in our communities is important and the district council has a strong record of supporting local groups and organisations with grants. Currently nearly £1.5million is awarded each year and this extends to voluntary groups which provide important services. I will help continue these grant schemes.

I will encourage local control over housing and good design for new homes, retaining control over development and design through sound planning and delivering affordable, high-quality homes for young families and the next generation.
