I AM a retired scientist and have lived in Whitchurch for 12 years. Seven years ago I became a parish councillor and am at present the vice-chairman. During this time I have identified and organised many projects in the village while liaising with the district and county councils in order to retain the area’s beautiful rural atmosphere.
I am particularly interested in the environment and as a member of the Chiltern Society I have contributed to the Chilterns Conservation Board management strategy.
I am particularly concerned with the large demand for increased housing in South Oxfordshire and its effect on the natural environment. I believe that with proper management and planning this can be achieved with minimum disruption to the environment and South Oxfordshire can remain one of the best places to live.
I am also concerned with law and order and take a keen interest in Neighbourhood Watch. I sit on the committee of the Thames Valley Neighbourhood Watch Association as well as being co-ordinator for our village. If re-elected, I would continue to work tirelessly to ensure that Whitchurch continues to be a pleasant place to live.
