Miniature skate park

A MINIATURE skate park is to be built at the Lea Road play area in Sonning Common.

A MINIATURE skate park is to be built at the Lea Road play area in Sonning Common.

The oval course with bumps is designed for younger children to use before they are old enough to use the new skate park which is currently being built at Bishopswood sports ground.

Councillor Carole Lewis, who chairs the skate park group, said it would be suitable for children up to the age of 13. “It is a little starter track for younger children to play on,” she said.

Parish clerk Phillip Collings said: “Lea Road has the space and we can put a bench in the middle of the track so parents can watch their children. It will be used before and after school as it is near the primary school.”

The Miniwheels course should be finished at the same time as the skate park this month.
