I AM 54 and live in Bridle Way in a civil partnership (soon to be converted to marriage). I am chief executive and president of a medium-sized market research and consumer research company.
I am a shareholder of South Stoke community shop, a member of South Stoke Parish Council and editor of the South Stoke parish newsletter.Â
As I am nearing retirement (running my own company), I am looking to slow down on work and to invest more of my time and experience working on local issues that really matter to those of us who live in and around Goring — that’s why I would appreciate being elected to Goring Parish Council.
If elected, I would like to work for both Goring and South Stoke parishes and help to bring to life the benefits of good collaboration and communication between the two.
My father and I didn’t agree on much, yet I am grateful for much he taught me. “Instead of only complaining,” he would frequently say, “get involved and do something about it.” Rather than simply complain about things, I want to work with the council to be part of solutions.
