I AM 67, retired and married with two sons and I live in Cleeve Road, Goring.

I AM 67, retired and married with two sons and I live in Cleeve Road, Goring.

I was co-opted on to the parish council three years ago, principally to help with reviewing planning applications, and slowly began to understand and contribute to the breadth of matters that are dealt with by the council.

My background is 45 years in architecture with the last 20 as technical director of a nationwide town planning and architectural practice.

I have lived in the village for 33 years and have been active in Round Table, Rotary and the social club.

My aims are:

Recreation — I have been taking forward the renovation and, hopefully, an extension of the changing room facilities at Gardiner Rec to encourage a wider mix of users.

Housing — Acknowledging that additional housing is required, I believe we should consider more than one location but keep in mind the provision of affordable accommodation which is important to cater for all age groups who want to stay in or come to the village.

Village centre — Due to increased vehicle movement through High Street, I am keen to push for improvements to help pedestrians, local and visitors.
