LORRAINE HILLIER had more than one reason to celebrate the election results.
As well as retaining her seat on Henley Town Council (and with the most votes in the Henley North ward), the Conservative was also elected to South Oxfordshire District Council.
Not only that but she also won £110 after betting that her party would win an overall majority in the general election. She had placed a £10 bet at odds of 10/1 at Ladbrokes in Henley on May 5.
She says: ?You have got to put your money where your mouth is and I had a gut feeling we?d win. I was so excited. I wish I?d put £1,000 on.?
As if that?s not lucky enough, Lorraine is to be made mayor next week.
