Homes plan rejected

PLANS for a housing development off Kennylands Road, Sonning Common, have been rejected.

PLANS for a housing development off Kennylands Road, Sonning Common, have been rejected.

South Oxfordshire District Council refused an application for 33 houses by T A Fisher, of Winchester, on the grounds that the site was not included in the village’s neighbourhood development plan.

It also said the development failed to meet affordable housing needs and did not fit with its own strategy for growth and infrastructure.

Sonning Common Parish Council had recommended the plans be refused.

The developer submitted the amended plans in April after an application for 30 homes was also refused.

It changed the mixture of houses and made amendments to the proposed access road.

Plans for 50 homes on the site were rejected in 2011.
