PYRTON Parish Council wants to have a neighbourhood plan.
This would give the community a say on any developments, particularly those involving housing.
The proposed plan area follows the Pyrton parish boundary and public consultation is being carried out until next Thursday.
Parish council chairman John Curtis said: “We would like to be able to determine how Pyrton is developed or not and the bits we’d like to retain.
“We have Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Sites of Special Scientific Interest and the centre of the village is a conservation area.
“We’re not a very big parish and we don’t have a very big electorate so hopefully we have a fair idea of what people’s thoughts are already.”
In Watlington, the neighbourhood plan is in doubt while the parish council decides whether to continue with the process.
