Village plan meeting

A PUBLIC meeting on Goring’s neighbourhood plan will be held at the village hall on Thursday at 7.30pm.

There will be a talk explaining the plan’s benefits and residents will be invited to join the volunteer steering group that will write the  document.

The plan will name the village sites where at least 86 homes are to be built by 2027 to meet housing targets.

It will be supervised by the parish council and will have to pass a referendum before it becomes part of South Oxfordshire District Council’s planning policy.

The parish council agreed to produce a plan last month following pressure from  villagers.

It has agreed an initial budget of £500 to publicise it and has sent a leaflet explaining the process to every household.

So far about 20 people have offered to sit on the steering group. Anyone else interested in volunteering should call the parish council on (01491) 874444.
