Cut in bus subsidies

SUBSIDISED bus routes in and around Henley could lose the money they receive from Oxfordshire County

SUBSIDISED bus routes in and around Henley could lose the money they receive from Oxfordshire County Council.

The authority is to review more than 100 subsidies in order to save two thirds of the £3.6million a year it pays to bus companies to provide extra services or extend timetables that are not commercially viable.

There will public consultation on the proposals.

The routes in the Henley Standard circulation area that could be affected are as follows: 125 Watlington to Wallingford; 134 Goring to Wallingford; 139 Wallingford to Henley; 145 Woodcote to Henley; 151, 152 and 154 Henley services; M1 Watlington to Reading and M2 Nettlebed to Reading.
