Henley-in-Bloom Councillor replaced in vote

A NEW chairman has taken over Henley in Bloom. Conservative town councillor Simon Smith replaces Councillor

A NEW chairman has taken over Henley in Bloom. Conservative town councillor Simon Smith replaces Councillor Kellie Hinton (Henley Residents’ Group) following a vote at a meeting of a sub-committee this week.

Cllr Hinton had nominated herself to stay on, saying: “This would be to allow for continuity prior to the competitions coming up.”

Henley is entered into national and regional competitions with Britain in Bloom and challenging for the Entente Florale European title.

Cllr Smith was proposed by Mayor Lorraine Hillier, who said: “This is not because we do not appreciate Cllr Hinton and all the work she has done.

“We are all working as a team for the community and Cllr Smith has got some great ideas going forward after the competitions this summer.”
