Chairman elected

TONY COTTON has been unanimously elected the new chairman of Peppard Parish Council.

TONY COTTON has been unanimously elected the new chairman of Peppard Parish Council.

But he told the council he will hold the position for no longer than six months.

Councillor Cotton, who was chairman between August 2014 and February 2015, said: “If I am going to become chairman I think councillors should get thinking about who can take it on quickly. This is not something I can give the required amount of time in the long term.”

Simon Crouch will take up the position of vice—chairman that was previously held by Cllr Cotton. The changes came about after former chairman Barry Wood quit the council part way through a meeting last month following a row with another member.
