Grants up for grabs

TOWNS and villages in South Oxfordshire are being urged to apply for a share of £150,000

TOWNS and villages in South Oxfordshire are being urged to apply for a share of £150,000 worth of grant funding being awarded by the district council.

The Town and Village Infrastructure Fund is open until December 1. Since 2013 the district council has approved 22 applications which have supported projects such as free Wi—Fi for town centres, street decorations and tourism information boards at costs between £700 and £17,000.

Any application must be match—funded from sources such as the local council, business partnership or the lottery. Proposals are considered based on how they build the local economy in the town or village and how the improve the attractiveness of the town.
