Lunch club cash plea

COUNCILLORS in Wargrave have been asked to help a struggling community club.

COUNCILLORS in Wargrave have been asked to help a struggling community club.

The Wargrave Luncheon Club, which meets at the Woodclyffe Hall in High Street every Thursday, is finding it hard to pay the rental cost of the hall.

Councillors agreed to form a working group to look into helping. This will comprise chairman Richard Bush, Terry Cattermole, Marion Pope and Philip Davies.

Parish clerk Stephen Hedges said: “We used to provide the funds for the full cost of rental but that agreement came to an end. Now they have a 65 per cent discount but are finding it quite difficult.“
