Please put up our rent

ALLOTMENT holders in Henley support a rent rise.

ALLOTMENT holders in Henley support a rent rise.

Town councillors are considering imposing an increase of between 2.38 per cent and 3.66 per cent, depending on the size of the plot. This would mean the rent for a 10-pole plot would rise from £41 to £42.50 and from £21 to £21.50 for up to five poles.

Councillor Sam Evans said she had received a letter from Marisa Francini, committee secretary of the Henley Allotments Association, saying its members would support the proposal.

The recreation and amenities committee will make a recommendation before the full council makes a decision next month.
