Problem of pub posts

POSTS on a turning circle outside the Unicorn pub in Peppard could be replaced but it’s not clear what with.

POSTS on a turning circle outside the Unicorn pub in Peppard could be replaced but it’s not clear what with.

The parish council is willing to spend up to £500 on replacements but says the posts tend to be knocked over by bus drivers and so wants an alternative.

Councillor Tony Rancombe said the posts were below eye level for the drivers, who use the turning circle because there is a bus stop adjacent.

Councillor Simon Crouch said: “Without the posts you could argue bus drivers would just go straight over the island.”

Councillor Veronica Treacher suggested planting some shrubs in place of the posts in Colmore Lane.

She said: “They would be decorative and improve that part of the village no end.”

Councillor Fiona Berry suggested approaching the pub for ideas.
