PLANS by a Henley restaurant to serve customers in its rear courtyard have been supported the town council.
Cau in Hart Street has applied for planning permission to use the area for dining from 9am to 6pm on weekdays for a year’s trial period.
On Tuesday, the council’s planning committee recommended that the plans are approved by South Oxfordshire District Council. Councillor Sam Evans raised concerns about noise from the restaurant disturbing residents in neighbouring gardens.
But Councillor Will Hamilton supported the plans, saying: “It’s a garden that could be used during the day.
“There have been lots of complaints in the past but I think it’s time to at least allow a trial period and see where we get to.”
