Transport plan costs

ANOTHER £50,000 could be put towards Henley Town Council’s transport strategy.

ANOTHER £50,000 could be put towards Henley Town Council’s transport strategy.

The council’s town and community committee has suggested this sum be included in the capital expenditure budget for 2016/17.

The council has already spent £50,000 in a traffic study by Reading consultants Peter Brett Associates as part of the Henley and Harpsden neighbourhood plan.

The study found that about 120 more cars would go through Henley at peak hours if 450 new homes were built between now and 2027.

The committee also suggested putting £6,000 in the capital expenditure budget for lighting along the towpath in Mill Meadows.
