Call for cameras

MORE CCTV cameras could be installed at Mill Meadows in Henley.

MORE CCTV cameras could be installed at Mill Meadows in Henley.

Councillors have agreed to consider the cost of installing three cameras in the addition to the three already there.

Last month police were called after a man exposed himself in the children’s play area in Mill Meadows and was witnessed by a 44-year-old woman with her child.

Speaking at a meeting of the council’s town and community committee, Councillor Dylan Thomas said: “There is serious concern about this. I have received numerous emails. People want to know what is going on with security. If the camera does not cover it there should be PCSO presence.”

Henley police chief Mark Harling said he could not commit an officer full time but patrols in the area had been increased.

Councillor Will Hamilton said: “In light of what happened let’s put a camera for that area in the budget.”
