Nowhere to downsize

COUNCILLORS in Henley have expressed concern about losing “middle-sized” homes in the town.

COUNCILLORS in Henley have expressed concern about losing “middle-sized” homes in the town.

Members of the town council’s planning meeting were discussing an application for an extension at a house in Belle Vue Road.

Councillor David Nimmo Smith said: “They are extending from three bedrooms to five. We are losing middle-sized houses in the town by people doing extensions.”

Councillor Jane Smewing said she agreed and Deputy Mayor Julian Brookes said there was a lack of houses in Henley where people could “downsize”.
