WASTE collection dates in Henley and the surrounding villages will be later than usual due to the festive holiday.

South Oxfordshire District Council says any rubbish scheduled to be taken away today (Christmas Day) will now be collected on December 29. This will be for food waste, recycling, garden waste and textiles.

Collections for December 28 and 29 will be moved to December 30 and 31 and collections for December 30 will now take place on January 2. Those scheduled for December 31 and January 1 will be moved to January 4 and 5. All these collections are for food waste, electrical items and rubbish. Food waste, recycling, garden waste and textiles set for collection from January 4 to 7 will be moved back two days. The January 8 collection will move to January 11.

All food waste, electrical items and rubbish that would have been collected from January 11 to 15 will be moved back by one day. All other rubbish collections will remain as normal.

Henley Town Council’s parks services team will shred Christmas trees in return for a £2 donation to Henley in Bloom in Mill Meadows from 10am to noon on Saturdays, January 2 and 9
