Christmas tree recycling helps town bloom

DOZENS of used Christmas trees were shredded and recycled by Henley Town Council staff

DOZENS of used Christmas trees were shredded and recycled by Henley Town Council staff.

Members of the council’s parks team spent two hours last Saturday morning collecting and chipping trees in Mill Meadows.

Karl Bishop, a member of the team, said: “We had about 10 trees in the first hour which is very good. It’s better to do this than just leave them outside. We will recycle all the chippings.”

Each tree was shredded in return for a £2 donation to Henley in Bloom.

A second session will be held from 10am to noon on Saturday.
