DIRECT trains from Henley to London are likely to be withdrawn when electrification of the line is being introduced, according a passenger group.
Patrick Fleming, who chairs the Henley Branch Users Group, raised concerns at a meeting with town councillors.
He said: “As far as we are aware, electrification of the line will go ahead but — and it’s a big but — there is no information on the services they will provide in the interim between us and  London.
“It is almost certain that they will withdraw the through trains.”
He said the group was “on the case” and would report back on any progress it made.
In July, Network Rail revealed that electrification of the Henley branch line would be put back by at least a year to the second half of 2018 rather than December 2017, as originally planned.
This was partly due to problems with a factory train which was digging and planting the piling along the line.
