Silent tribute

HENLEY town councillors have paid their respects to a former mayor.

HENLEY town councillors have paid their respects to a former mayor.

Before the council’s full meeting on Tuesday, members observed a minute’s silence in memory of John Pruckner, who died in September, aged 81.

Mr Pruckner, originally from Harrow, moved to Henley with his wife Joyce and three daughters in 1975. He served as mayor in 1983 and 1986.

The family lived on Rod Eyot before moving to Sonning Common in 1989.
