Jet garage flats plan to be exhibited

PLANS to build flats for the elderly at the former Jet garage site in Henley are to be exhibited at the town hall.

PLANS to build flats for the elderly at the former Jet garage site in Henley are to be exhibited at the town hall.

McCarthy and Stone, which now owns the land in Reading Road, will display artists’ impressions and details of the assisted living scheme on Thursday from 3pm to 6.45pm.

The petrol station shut in 2014 after being purchased by Inland Homes, which was granted planning permission to build 55 ordinary flats in accordance with the joint Henley and Harpsden neighbourhood plan.

However, that is unlikely to go ahead as McCarthy and Stone, which specialises in retirement properties, says it wants to return to the drawing board.
