Developers would have to pay up

HENLEY would receive about £1.5million from new housing developments.

HENLEY would receive about £1.5million from new housing developments.

The figure was revealed by Councillor Ian Reissmann at a town council meeting.

He said the money acquired through the Community Infrastructure Levy would help mitigate the effects of development by funding infrastructure such as schools, transport and flood defences as well as community, leisure and health and social care facilities.

A referendum on the joint Henley and Harpsden neighbourhood plan, which names 11 sites where about 500 homes should be built by 2027, will be held on March 10.
