PLANS to enlarge a Henley car park are unlikely to bear fruit, says a town councillor.
South Oxfordshire District Council has budgeted £770,000 towards the cost of adding a deck to the King’s Road car, which it owns.
Councillor Simon Smith told a council meeting: “I believe that when Waitrose was first given planning permission decking was considered and was thrown out. I really can’t see it happening.”
He said there were concerns about the effect on properties in King’s Road.
The car park currently has about 340 spaces.
