AN extension of a house can be now be used for holiday lets after permission was granted on appeal.

Shahid Butt requested a change of use for the front extension at his home in Deanfield Road, Henley, in March last year.

Henley Town Council objected and South Oxfordshire District Council refused consent.

Now that decision has been overturned by planning inspector Julie Dale Clark.

She said: “The host dwelling is a three-storey detached house and given the scale of the proposal I do not consider that allowing it would have a significant effect on the character or appearance of the area.”
