Car park crackdown

DRIVERS who abuse short-term parking bays in Watlington could face action by the parish

DRIVERS who abuse short-term parking bays in Watlington could face action by the parish council.

It has received complaints about cars and vans being left for more than two hours in the Hill Road car park.

The council said: “We monitor this and periodically have a blitz on those who overstay.

“We have not yet found an effective way of doing this that does not involve heavy overheads in man hours or costs but we continue to explore options.

“In the meantime we ask you to respect the two-hour bays. We need our shops in the town and the shops need customers, many of whom need to park for a short period in the car park. Please help us to keep this car park free for all users.”
