New clerk starts work

HENLEY’S new town clerk will start work on Monday.

HENLEY’S new town clerk will start work on Monday.

Janet Wheeler, 54, who was previously town clerk in Amersham, replaces Mike Kennedy, 60, who retired in February.

She said: “I’m very excited, it’s my dream job. I actually applied back in 2007 when I was at Cookham Parish Council and obviously didn’t have the experience then. I went away, got the job at Amersham to get the experience and now I’m back.”

Mrs Wheeler lives in Oving, near Aylesbury, with her husband Richard, who works for General Electric. The couple have two children in their twenties.

Mrs Wheeler was Amersham town clerk for six years and before that was parish clerk in Cookham.
