Neighbourhood plan survey

RESIDENTS of Benson are being asked for their views on the objectives of the village’s neighbourhood

RESIDENTS of Benson are being asked for their views on the objectives of the village’s neighbourhood plan.

The parish council is in the process of producing a fast-track plan in an attempt to give the community more say over new developments.

The village could see 550 new homes built under current plans.

A short survey has been sent to every household outlining the principles on which the plan will be developed. Once completed, it should be returned to the parish hall before Sunday. The survey can also be completed online.

Councillor Philip Murray said the council had already received about 150 responses.

Jon Fowler, chairman of the neighbourhood plan steering committee and vice-chairman of the council, said: “The neighbourhood plan is going really well — everybody is really enthusiastic.”
