TREES which help reduce pollution could be placed at seven locations in Henley.

TREES which help reduce pollution could be placed at seven locations in Henley.

Henley in Bloom committee member Caroline Langler has identified places where there is enough space for the trees, which would need the approval of Oxfordshire County Council, the highways authority. These include two on the corner of Friday Street and Duke Street, two outside Vinegar Hill and Hubbledays in Duke Street, one on the opposite side, one near the lay-by by Gorvett & Stone in Duke Street and the last one on a wide part of the pavement in Bell Street outside the Bell Bookshop.

Silver birch trees have been shown to reduce pollution by up to 60 per cent.
