£4,250 for new mower

WARGRAVE Parish Council is to buy a new mower at a cost of £4,250.

WARGRAVE Parish Council is to buy a new mower at a cost of £4,250.

The roll-on mower will replace a “topper” which is used to cut the sports pitches at the recreation ground off Recreation Road and Kings Field.

Parish clerk Stephen Hedges said the council had budgeted for the machine to last five years but expected it to last much longer.

He added: “It would normally be £6,000 but there is a demonstrator which we can get for £4,250. A major service costs £380.

“We won’t be decommissioning the topper straight away — it will continue to be used for rough cutting until it finishes its life.”
