Call for dog bin

A DOG poo bin could be installed on Peppard Common.

A DOG poo bin could be installed on Peppard Common.

Councillor Terry Ryan was approached by a resident asking if one could be put on Top Common.

It would cost about £300 to install the bin and about £40 a year to have it emptied.

Cllr Ryan told a council meeting: “A request was made to me by a member of the public who said many people walk their dogs on Top Common and quite a considerable amount of dog poo was being left behind.”

Councillor Viv Mitchell said it was important to keep the area clean as children from Peppard Primary School used it.

Councillor Fiona Berry said she didn’t believe a new bin would change people’s behaviour.

The council agreed that Cllr Ryan should ask the complainant to suggest a suitable location for the bin.
