Opposed to new house

COUNCILLORS in Wargrave have opposed plans for a new home.

COUNCILLORS in Wargrave have opposed plans for a new home.

Rebecca Smith has applied for permission to build a two-bedroom house and double garage in Old Bath Road and to demolish the existing  garage.

She says the house would match the size and scale of nearby properties and enhance the area.

It would be “innovative and well-designed” and “of high architectural merit”.

But Wargrave Parish Council said the property would be “cramped” between two properties and would result in the loss of a garden to parking space.

They also said the development would be out of character with the surroundings and would fail to add anything positive.

A decision will be made by Wokingham Borough Council next month.
