CSURFACE dressing work will take place in Kennylands Road, Sonning Common, in the week commencing June
SURFACE dressing work will take place in Kennylands Road, Sonning Common, in the week commencing June 13.
The work follows the filling of 69 potholes and cracks in the road in July and August, which prompted a complaint by parish councillor Dirk Jones to Oxfordshire County Council, the highways authority, about the patchwork effect.
County Councillor David Bartholomew told a parish council meeting: “I am sure you will remember the repairs to Kennylands Road last year and the patching that was done.
“Nobody was happy about it but I said I would stay on top of it and the surface dressing should cover up the problem. I will be checking to make sure it is done and I will chase it up. I’m sure you will let me know about it.”
Traffic management will be in operation while the work is carried out.
Meanwhile, poor drainage on a road in Peppard is to be investigated by the county council.
Peppard Parish Council flagged up the problem in Wyfold Lane after a resident  complained.
Councillor Tony Rancombe said: “I understand the measures are in place to progress and deal with some of the issues but others require further investigation. There’s a bit of a problem because there is no footpath there.”
An area of Stoke Row Road that also floods frequently will be addressed by members of the Nettlebed and District Conservators.
