MOST Goring residents want new homes to be built on smaller plots. According to a survey of villagers on suitable development sites, 56 per cent of respondents favoured exclusively “small” plots while 36 per cent preferred either “small” or “medium”. Most favoured building two- and three-bedroom family units or homes for first time buyers and there was strongest support for keeping prices below £500,000. Traffic on High Street was said to be the community’s biggest problem, followed closely by cuts to bus services, a lack of parking spaces and road safety. Respondents aged under 40 favoured having more leisure facilities.
