How belly dancing can lose wobble...

WOMEN in Henley are being offered the chance to learn belly dancing.

WOMEN in Henley are being offered the chance to learn belly dancing.

Cherie Marshall, 27, has begun running classes at the Christ Church Centre in Reading Road.

She works part-time as an agency nurse but says her passion is dance tuition.

Originally from South Africa, Miss Marshall said: “I’ve always had an interest in belly dancing but it was only when I moved to the UK in 2004 that it became bigger. I went to classes and fell in love with it.

“Like any dance, it doesn’t take long to get good but practice makes perfect. I’ve been doing it for nine years and I’m still learning.

“The best thing about belly dancing is that it makes you feel good about yourself. It is good for your whole core — it works your stomach muscles, legs, arms and back.”

Miss Marshall, of Bolney Road, Henley, and some of her students entertained shoppers with a three-hour demonstration in Henley market place.

She added: “It’s a beautiful dance form and so good to learn. The costumes are amazing as well.”
