AS excuses for missing official meetings go, Henley town councillor Dylan Thomas had a good one.
He missed last week’s planning committee meeting as his wife Clare had recently given birth to twin girls.
Phoebe Hannah and Hennie Alice were born at the Royal Berkshire Hospital on Tuesday, August 16, weighing 5lb 8oz and 5lb 2oz respectively. The couple already have a son, Archie, three.
Cllr Thomas, a former army officer, says the twins have been keeping him busy at home in Northfield End.
“Mother and babies are both doing well,” he says. “It’s not easy but it’s wonderful. It takes a bit of getting used to and there’s a lot of sleep deprivation!”
I’m sure his council colleagues will want to offer their congratulations when he returns from to duty at the town hall.
