PHILIP DAVIES might have found a shortcut to being awarded the freedom of Wargrave.

Parish councillors were discussing a new policy for bestowing the honour at a meeting on Monday when it was suggested that recipients should have served a minimum period of 20 years.

Councillor Davies joked that they instead might want to consider 20 minutes, prompting colleagues to ask if that was the length of his attention span!
