Dragons roar to plate final win at Albert Dock

HENLEY DRAGONS began their league season with a good performance at the Albert Dock, Liverpool.

HENLEY DRAGONS began their league season with a good performance at the Albert Dock, Liverpool.

The morning saw 50m racing. In their first heat Henley were drawn against strong opposition and failed to prevent Worcester overhauling them before the finish line. After three more races Henley were runners-up in the plate final.

After lunch in the 2,00m pursuit race Henley posted the third fastest time of 18 boats.

Following the pursuit there was a series of cohort races involving a buoy turn, this time Henley won the plate final.

The two trophies awarded to Henley were collected by the team drummer, 10-year-old Dan Wakelin.
