Young pianists from Robert Piggott Infant School in Wargrave performed at St Mary’s Church in the village under the brilliant direction of their music teacher, Kirsty Andrews. The children gave a sparkling performance which included a dramatic depiction of the lives and times of Mozart and Beethoven, composers studied by the children this term. The children performed from their current repertoire, including pieces which would be played in upcoming examinations. More experienced players joined the recital which not only impressed the audience but also inspired the younger children to continue to practise and improve. The children surprised their teacher at the end of the recital with a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday as it was her birthday that day.
